Why this page exists
Penchant OS is being built by one person and a set of agents, and the honest version of "built in the open" is not a launch video. It is publishing the decisions as they are made: what we chose, what it cost, and what we got wrong when we get it wrong.
The product itself is an agentic operating system with three commitments that will not move: work the system does is recorded in a ledger you can read; anything consequential stops and asks a human; and the memory the agents run on cites its sources and cannot quietly rewrite its own history.
This devlog will carry the architectural and design decisions behind those commitments. Entries are numbered, dated, and never edited after publication; corrections get their own entry. If an entry would reveal something that is not ours to share, it waits.
Nothing is for sale. The waitlist gets one email when there is something real to try.
